About the Lopez Family
Al and Dina Lopez, with their children Francisco and Monica, founded Bacchus Landing with the vision of creating a warm and welcoming destination to entertain guests with memorable wine experiences. We want to recreate an experience for our guests that’s rooted in the same values we put on our gatherings with family and friends. Wanting to always stay close, every Sunday our family gets together to laugh, eat and drink wine. Often times these gatherings include extended family and friends, both old and new. When Sunday dinners are over, there’s nothing left but empty plates and bottles of wine.
As a family, a deeper passion for wine took root when Al and Dina moved to Sonoma County from Los Angeles in 1998. It wasn’t long before our love of wine, and the beauty of wine country, drew us to the idea of planting our own vineyard. Al’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to take an extensive viticulture course at Santa Rosa Junior College. Soon after, he planted his own vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon around the family estate and started making small batches of wine to share with family and friends. The wine was so well received that in 2012 we created our family label – Aldina Vineyards.
As owners of a boutique winery we recognized that producers like ourselves, and other small or remote wineries needed better access to visitors. It was this idea that ignited our vision for Bacchus Landing – an easily accessible destination for those who want to experience quality wines and artisanal bites with family and friends in the same spirit as our Sunday gatherings.
We look forward to hosting you at Bacchus Landing!
